Ingredients for Tofu Sisig:

  1. 500 g firm tofu cut into cubes.
  2. 1 cup canola or cooking oil.
  3. 3-4 cloves minced garlic.
  4. 1/2 cup diced onions.
  5. 2 chopped green long chilis with the seeds removed.
  6. 1/2 diced green bell peppers.
  7. 1/2 cup mayonnaise.
  8. 3 tablespoons oyster sauce.
  9. 2 tablespoons water.
  10. to taste Salt and pepper.
  11. Optional: calamansi and fried egg.

Step by step how to cook Tofu Sisig:

  1. Deep fry tofu until golden brown and crunchy. Drain oil and set aside..
  2. Sautè garlic and onions until onions are translucent..
  3. Add mayonnaise, oyster sauce and water. Stir and simmer on low fire for about 2 minutes until it slightly thickens..
  4. Add fried tofu and bell peppers. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes..
  5. Serve on a sizzling plate with calamansi. Optional: serve with fried egg on top with rice on the side..
